Sea Stacks is a unique house, overlooking Trinidad Head and Trinidad Bay with its fishing fleet and rock formations (sea stacks). The house and its location have their own history. In the early Seventies, architect Steele Wotkyns and his wife, Eleanor Roosevelt (niece of the Eleanor Roosevelt) bought this land. Wotkyns discovered a sunken barge of old growth redwood in Trinidad Bay and bought the harvesting rights. He designed and built this house from that old growth redwood. The beach below is named Willow Beach, after the native willow trees that still line the shore. The creek to the right with its cascading waterfalls, McGonnagol Mill Creek, is spring fed.

Sea Stacks sits on five acres and is home to a family of rare mountain beavers, river otters, a bat family or two and harbor seals which bask on the rocks offshore. Red-tail hawks and silver foxes are frequent visitors. Just past Pilot Rock near the horizon, watch for spouting gray whales, heading south in October to December, and north in February and March. Watch for their spouts around sunset. Enjoy walking on the beach below and looking for agates and jade. At low tide, enjoy the tide pools, with their starfish, sea anemones and other creatures. If you cross the lawn to the north, you can find easy access to some of the creek's many waterfalls and a fern glade to explore as well. The house is beautifully furnished and stocked with linens, fully-equipped kitchen, game table, and many other amenities.

Sea Stacks can comfortably accommodate 8 people. There are 3 full bathrooms, two queen beds and 4 twin beds.
